Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Stargaze collects when you use the Stargaze app and website (stargaze.world), and how it's used. Stargaze is operated by Orvexa AI Technologies Pvt Ltd ("we", "us"). It applies to the mobile app, the website and their backend services.

Information you provide

• Account information: a username, and either an email address and password, or a phone number / Google account verified through Firebase Authentication.
• Profile information: an optional display name, bio, and profile photo you choose to add.
• Content you create: videos and audio you record or upload, captions, comments, and any sounds you extract or upload for others to use.
• Challenge entries: the live recordings you submit to a challenge, and the scores they receive (AI score, audience engagement and, where applicable, judges' scores).
• Sponsorship details: if you create a sponsored challenge or send a sponsorship enquiry, the brand, contact and campaign information you enter.
• Messages to us: your name, email address and message when you use the Contact or sponsorship enquiry forms on our website.

Information collected automatically

• Camera and microphone: used only while you are actively recording a video in the app. We do not access the camera or microphone in the background.
• Photos: accessed only when you choose to upload a video from your gallery.
• Location: used once, at sign-in, only to pre-select your country calling code — Stargaze does not track or store your ongoing location.
• Usage information: engagement events (such as views, gazes, comments and follows) needed to operate feed ranking, challenge scoring and leaderboards.
• Technical and security information: standard server logs (such as IP address, device type and request details) used to keep the service secure, apply rate limits and prevent abuse.
• Crash reports: if enabled in a given build, diagnostic information about app crashes is sent to our error-monitoring provider (Sentry) to help us fix bugs.

How we use information

To operate the app, run challenges and leaderboards, calculate scores, show sponsored content, respond to your messages, keep the service safe, and comply with the law. We do not sell your personal information.

How your content is shared

Videos you publish, along with your username, profile photo, and captions, are visible to other users of the app — that is the core purpose of Stargaze. Challenge entries and your score and rank are shown on challenge pages and leaderboards, and may be shown to a challenge's sponsor in a limited form (public username, entry and rank only — never your email, phone number or private data). Draft/unpublished videos are private to your account.

Third parties we use

• Firebase (Google): phone-number and Google Sign-In authentication.
• Cloudflare R2: object storage for your videos, audio, and images.
• Sentry: crash and error reporting (where enabled).

These providers process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not use third-party advertising networks. Sponsor advertisements shown in the app are supplied and approved by us, not by an ad-tracking network.

How long we keep information

Your account and content are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it (for example, to enforce our Terms, resolve disputes, keep financial records, or comply with the law). Messages sent through our website forms are kept for as long as needed to respond to and follow up on them.

Your choices and rights

You can edit or delete individual videos, edit your profile, and delete your account from the Profile screen in the app. You can control camera, microphone, photo and location permissions from your device's system settings at any time. You may also ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information — contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

Stargaze is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
